![]() The glory days are back again for golden Ashia
Ashia Hansen likes leaving things late. In 2003 she produced her best when the heat was on to lift the World Indoor title in front of a home crowd at Birmingham. See Ashia chat to the Academy She did the same thing at the Commonwealth Games and at the European Championships too.
The Birchfield Harrier has been plagued by injury but she showed her fighting spirit again at Birmingham to grab a stunning gold medal. The Sport Academy caught up with Ashia. She talked about her injury heartache and her drive to be the perfect jumper. She also reveals a rather strange collection of sporting videos. And if you're a keen athlete and worried about stuffing your face with cream cakes, then fear not. Ashia absolutely adores them, but all in moderation.
