Shoes, boots, whatever you call them, the things you put on your feet are crucial to enjoying the game. The look of the shoe will be important, but it shouldn't be top of your list. Like the sock, it's protection, support and that word again - comfort - you need to think about. Ankle injuries are common in basketball so you need plenty of support. I prefer to wear boots that are ankle length, but some players go for the lower cut trainer.
Look out for the air-cushioned soles. Blisters can hurt so get shoes with good ventilation and this will help your feet breathe and reduce your sweating. And a little tip when you’re trying out your shoes in the shop. Run around to give them a good test and remember your feet are bigger when they are hot, so be careful with the sizes.
