A lot of the smaller teams on show at the World Cup upset football's world order in the Far East but Tunisia were not one of them.
They didn't arrive with the best of form having failed to find the net in three matches at the African Nations Cup.
But they were still in with a shout of progressing going into the last round of group games.
Having lost to Russia and drawn with Belgium, a win by two clear goals over Japan would have sent them through.
For some reason they went into the match focused on defence and rarely threatened the Japanese goal. Result? 2-0 and they were on their way home.
On the bright side they did at least find the net against Belgium, and Slim Ben Achour enhanced his reputation directing operations in midfield.
