ZINEDINE ZIDANE
Some people will argue with the inclusion of a man who has only played in one World Cup, but he made such an impact for France in 1998 that I had to nominate him.
Even though he was sent off against Saudi Arabia and missed the next two matches, I'd still say he was the best player in the competition.
He showed how strong he is mentally when he came back from that suspension and the two headed goals he got in the final against Brazil were a measure of his talent.
Zidane can score as well as make things happen and when he's got the ball at his feet, you always fancy him to come up with something.
