Tony Sanneh

Club: Nuremberg
Position: Defender

Started his career as a midfielder and has had trouble adapting to defensive duties since moving to Germany, first with Hertha Berlin and now at Nuremberg.

Occasionally criticised for losing his marker, he was at fault in the recent friendly with the Republic of Ireland when he was out-jumped by Gary Doherty for their winner.

Speedy down the flank, he has scored once for his country in around 30 appearances.

Was not involved in France 98, this will be his first World Cup experience.
