David Regis

Club: Metz
Position: Defender

While several of the USA squad earn their crust in Europe, Regis is the only one who plays in France.

An attacking full-back born in Martinique, Regis was absent from this year's Gold Cup triumph as coach Bruce Arena opted to leave several European-based stars with their clubs.

At 33 years of age, Arena trusts in his experience and used him as a regular starter throughout the qualifying campaign.

Regis played in all three matches at France 98 having been fast-tracked into the national side shortly beforehand.
