Eddie Pope

Club: DC United
Position: Defender

Now 28, his career has been held back by a number of problems with injuries.

Strong in the air in both penalty boxes, he was recently on the scoresheet for his country in their 2-1 friendly defeat to the Republic of Ireland on 17 April.

Also registered once during qualifying when he opened the scoring in the 7-0 defeat of Barbados.

Has lost some of the pace which made him a useful attacking defender in the early years, but has instead worked on improving his defensive game.

Voted DC United's Player of the Year in 2001 for the third time during six years with the club.
