Alpay Ozalan

Club: Aston Villa
Position: Defender

Defender Alpay Ozalan has been a regular in the Aston Villa side, but injury has meant that first-team chances during the 2001/2002 season have been few and far between.

Alpay is a tall defender who can play on either side and poses an aerial threat at the set piece, but is more often used as a man marker.

He won a championship winner's medal and two Cup winner's medals with Besiktas.

Alpay began his career with Altay Izmir before joining Besiktas in 1993.

He made his international debut against Romania in 1995 and has been a regular ever since.
