Lee Carsley

Club: Everton
Position: Midfielder

The 28-year-old will not be the first choice on Mick McCarthy's starting list in Korea and Japan but he could still get his chance.

He has made a name for himself in the English Premiership at Derby County, Blackburn Rovers and now Everton.

He qualifies for the national side through his Irish grandparents.

His lack of pace has proved to be his major flaw but he makes up for that with his industry around the park, his insistence on helping out the back four and his ability to pick the right time to push forward.
