Gary Kelly

Club: Leeds United
Position: Defender

Rarely has Mick McCarthy held a lack of club form or appearances against a player but Gary Kelly may be one of the first to really miss out.

A veteran of the international set-up at the age of 27, Kelly has struggled to push his way into the Leeds starting line-up due to the form of Danny Mills.

As a result, he now appears to be a notch back from Steve Finnan at international level.

A good relationship at club and international level with Ian Harte could prove a positive factor for him though.

A former Leeds captain, Kelly has struggled with a series of injuries - shin splints kept him out for the entire 1998/9 season.
