Clinton Morrison

Club: Crystal Palace
Position: Forward

It took time but Mick McCarthy eventually persuaded Clinton Morrison that his international future was with Ireland.

The Crystal Palace striker had been linked with representing both England and Jamaica, whom he also qualified for.

But, in the end, he opted for the Emerald Isle.

His appearances for the Irish have been limited so far but the Tooting-born striker looks, at 23, to have a lengthy career ahead of him.

There is no doubt about his striking ability and a move to the Premiership seems a certainty after the World Cup.
