Tomasz Hajto

Club: Schalke
Position: Defender

One of the first names on manager Jerzy Engel's team sheet, Tomasz Hajto is most comfortable playing alongside his Schalke team-mate Tomasz Waldoch.

The pair are Poland's first-choice central defensive unit, with Hajto the more attack-minded of the two.

Famous for his long throws and powerful long-distance shots, he is also a rock at the back.

A serious knee injury kept him out for three months this season but he returned to action at the beginning of March and is coming into form again at the right time.
