Taribo West

Club: unattached
Position: Defender

The strong but unpredictable defender remains one of the most colourful characters in the Nigerian squad.

His creative hairstyles, heavily publicised marital problems and erratic have all added to his public persona.

He was a member of the country's Olympic team at the Sydney games in the summer of 2000.

French club Auxerre was West's first European club, with subsequent spells with Internazionale and AC Milan.

A move to Derby County lasted just six months and has most recently been at Kaiserlautern - that sojourn came to an end after his employers asked him to find a new club.
