Alberto Garcia Aspe

Club: Puebla
Position: Midfielder

Alberto Garcia Aspe wil be 35 by the time the tournament kicks off, but Mexico are pleased he changed his mind about retiring from the international scene.

Manager Javier Aguirre persuaded his player not to hang up his boots up in 1999 and has seen him put in some excellent performances for his country ever since.

He will be determined to make up for having missed the 2001 Copa America final through injury and remains one of Mexico's most influential players.

A midfield grafter rather than creative playmaker, he is also capable of getting among the goals from free-kicks.
