Frank Baumann

Club: Werder Bremen
Position: Defender

Baumann is among the select group of fortunate players to make the trip to the Far East.

The 26-year-old had originally been left out of Rudi Voeller's 23-man squad but got a last-minute call-up following a knee injury to Christopher Worns.

Baumann was used sparingly in qualifying - he was brought in just twice as a substitute and has again been used as a substitute - only once - in the competition proper.

When deployed, though, he goes about his business in the centre of defence quietly and confidently.
