Oliver Neuville

Club: Bayer Leverkusen
Position: Forward

Oliver Neuville has not yet managed to marry his prolific goalscoring record at club level to appearances in a German shirt.

An expert on the counter-attack with Bayer Leverkusen, his style is not ideally suited to the way that Germany play.

His development was slowed by injury after he joined Leverkusen in 1999 following an excellent spell with Hansa Rostock.

On top form he can be a dangerous opponent and it is hoped his best is yet to come on the international stage.
