Oliver Kahn

Club: Bayern Munich
Position: Goalkeeper

On top form, Oliver Kahn is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and he has been in the form of his life at the World Cup.

His remarkable agility and finely tuned reflexes came to the fore in the 2001 Champions League final when his saves from the spot helped Bayern Munich vanquish Valencia.

Kahn was much-maligned for his poor display in England's 5-1 win over Germany in the World Cup qualifiers, but this was very much a blip on a proud CV.

He bosses his box and is not scared to bawl at any defender who is failing to do his job properly.

Kahn was first called up for Germany as a late back-up for the 1994 World Cup squad but did not make his international debut until the following year.
