Daniel Vallejos

Club: Heredia
Position: Defender

A star of last year's World Youth Championships, Vallejos made a late surge to claim a place in the World Cup squad.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a fantastic first season as a professional for his club side Heredia and that brought him to the attention of Alexandre Guimaraes.

He was called up for the spring tour of Japan and South Korea, when others were unavailable, and again impressed.

Comfortable as an orthodox centre-back or as a defensive midfielder, but he is more likely to win a spot in the back-line.
