Rolando Fonseca

Club: CF La Piedad
Position: Forward

Attacking midfielder Rolando Fonseca was Costa Rica's top scorer during qualifying when he hit 10 goals in 17 games.

Often paired alongside Paulo Wanchope up front he can also drop deeper into midfield.

With the talented Wanchope so capable of drawing defenders out of position, Fonseca has become accustomed to exploiting any space that is left.

He is a far more orthodox frontman than his strike partner. Whereas Wanchope is something of an individualist, Fonseca follows the team ethic and will bring others into the game.
