Costa Rica jet in to Japan

Costa Rica have become the first overseas side to arrive in the Far East.

The Central American side have based themselves in Suzuka, 185 miles southwest of Tokyo, Japan.

And coach Alexandre Guimaraes wasted no time in getting his charges out on the training pitch.

A day after their arrival, Guimaraes put them through their paces in front of 150 locals who have "adopted" the team.

The city will host numerous events to welcome Costa Rica.

The team will train in the city until 23 May, before moving on to South Korea for their group matches.
