Pierre Njanka

Club: Strasbourg
Position: Defender

Had an up and down year before winning back his place in the squad.

A season-long loan at Portsmouth did not work out with a planned permanent move not materialising.

He also missed the African Cup of Nations because of a knee injury but came back into the reckoning as a direct replacement for Jean Dika Dika when he was sidelined.

A committed centre-back, who was in the 2000 Olympic team, he is strong in the tackle and powerful in the air.
