Salomon Olembe

Club: Marseille
Position: Midfielder

Salomon Olembe could, by now, have become an established name in the Premiership.

But, despite being linked with Liverpool, Chelsea and Fulham, the Cameroon midfielder instead joined former French champions Marseille for the start of the 2001/2002 campaign.

He has already proved he possesses the capabilites to play on the European stage, having impressed with previous club Nantes en route to the French title.

And the 21-year-old ought to be the very essence of his side at the World Cup with his ability to open up opponent's defences and thread sharp passes through to Cameroon's talented forwards.
