Johan Walem

Club: Standard Liege
Position: Midfielder

Walem is a creative force on the left of midfield for Belgium and has been, on and off, for the last decade.

Waisege named him in the starting line-up for six of the eight qualifiers and has made it clear that he is one of the major players in his World Cup plans.

His parents christened the 30-year-old after Holland legend Johan Cruyff.

He has returned to Belgium after spells in Serie A with Udinese and Parma.
