Gert Verheyen

Club: Club Bruges
Position: Midfield

Lacking any real turn of pace, Gert Verheyen uses his height and strength to unsettle opponents.

The Club Bruges ace scored a crucial goal for his country in the home leg of their World Cup qualifying play-off against the Czech Republic.

He is approaching 50 caps and has World Cup experience after playing against Mexico during France 98.

The 32-year-old played in all three of his country's Euro 2000 matches.
