Hernan Crespo

Club: Lazio
Position: Forward

Hernan Crespo, one of the most feared strikers in Serie A, also became the most expensive when he joined Lazio for more than 35m in the summer of 2000.

The previous year he was the top scorer in all competitions in Italy, when his 28 goals for Parma also helped them to win the Cup Winners' Cup.

He has a lethal finish with both feet and his composure on the ball means he is also capable of creating his own chances.

While sometimes criticised for keeping the ball too long, he has started to learn how to bring others into the game.

He has also been able to forge a handy understanding with fellow Argentine striker Claudio Lopez, who also plays for Lazio.
