Four Brazilians make Fifa's shortlist of 10 men for the Golden Ball, the award for the best player at the World Cup.
But there are no England players nominated for the prestigious award.
Golden Ball shortlist
The three R's - Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho - are nominated, along with team-mate Roberto Carlos.
The only other finalist on the list is Germany goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, who has been in brilliant form throughout the tournament.
German midfielder Michael Ballack, who scored his team's goal in their 1-0 semi-final win over South Korea, is also among the 10 shortlisted players.
No place for Ferdinand
But he is suspended for the final after picking up a second yellow card against Korea.
Senegal striker El Hadji Diouf, who illuminated the tournament with his dribbling skills, has also made it onto the list, as has Turkey forward Hasan Sas.
South Korea sweeper Hong Myong-Bo has been rewarded for a fine tournament with a place on the list, as has veteran Spain defender Fernando Hierro.
But there is no room for England's Rio Ferdinand, the England defender who impressed many with his assured displays during England's run to the quarter-finals.
Ferdinand was not even included in the initial shortlist of 33 players, with the panel instead naming his central defensive partner Sol Campbell.
The winner of the Golden Ball - decided by Fifa's technical study group - will be revealed on Tuesday.
