England give Brazil the blues

England have recorded an early psychological victory over World Cup quarter-final opponents Brazil.

Sven-Goran Eriksson's have been designated as the "home" side for Friday's game in Shizuoka.

And that gives them the right to ask Brazil to ditch their famous yellow shirts and switch to a less familiar blue kit.

England are hoping the change will give them an advantage when the teams battle for a semi-final place.

Second-favourites England have decided to face Brazil in their traditional white jerseys rather than the red shirts worn during the victory against Argentina.

And because England will wear a light colour, Brazil will have to don their blue "away" kit.

With England opting for white, television requirements dictate that Brazil must wear a darker colour.
