"We came to the World Cup to take part in the festival and make an impact and I think we have achieved that goal," he said.
"I am proud of my players. They have done superbly. I am sorry that we could not give the Turkish people more happiness today.

"We made fewer mistakes this time than in the first game against Brazil, but we still made mistakes going forward when we lost possession.
"It was a little bit our lack of experience at this stage, but also because of the tension back home in Turkey that put pressure on my players and led to mistakes."
Forward Ilhan Mansiz remained defiant in defeat but he wished his opponents luck in their final against Germany.
"Our morale was never broken. We missed a few chances and wecouldn't score but I wish Brazil all the best," Ilhan said.

The striker praised Turkish goalkeeper Rustu Recber who, with the exception of Ronaldo's 49th-minute goal, gave a flawless display.
"I congratulate him (Rustu)," Ilhan said. "He gave confidence to the whole of the defence and I think he was one of the best players on the field tonight."
Turkey now face co-hosts South Korea in the third-place play-off game on Saturday.
"It will be a fun match," Ilhan said. "We drew with them in a one-off (friendly) game so we know their strengths and weaknesses."
And Gunes says he knows the way the final will go as the Brazilians will not meet such difficult opponents again.
"Brazil are a good side with many talented players, but I think they were a bit intimidated by our strength," he said.
"The final against Germany will be relatively easy for them."
