Sebastian Abreu
Club:Cruz Azul
Position:Forward

Abreu broke former Mexico striker Jared Borgetti's record of 17 league goals in a season in the Mexican championship this year.

Known as 'The Madman', he pretty much cemented his place in the squad with Uruguay's equaliser against Italy in their friendly match on 17 April.

But he was barely involved in qualifying after falling out of favour with national coach Victor Pua over his failure to land a regular first-team place with Deportivo La Coruna in Spain.

However, he has been a new man since his move to Cruz Azul, initially on a loan basis.

He first played his way back into contention after being recalled for the February friendly with South Korea and scoring both Uruguay's goals in a 2-1 victory.
