Erik Edman
Club:Heerenveen
Position:Defender

Erik Edman will already be well known to England prior to this summer's World Cup.

Nigel Martyn spilled his free-kick in the friendly between the two sides, which Hakan Mild subsquently smashed into the roof of the net.

The match was arguably Edman's best game to date for the national side and he remains the long-term prospect for Sweden at left back.

He has frequently switched clubs, spending time at Torino, Karlsruhe and AIK Stockholm.

And he remains a possible target for Aston Villa boss Graham Taylor.
