Patrik Andersson is set to make a timely return to football with the World Cup only a month away.
The Barcelona defender, who has been sidelined since mid-February, intends to return next week in the Catalan Cup.
The 30-year-old has undergone intensive rehabilitation since undergoing knee surgery.
"Everything has gone very well," Andersson told Expressen.
"I have not had any complications under the rehab training and the knee has reacted positively.
"I'm still training under medical supervision, but from Monday I'll be ready for selection to the team."
The dilemma for Sweden coaches Lars Lagerback and Tommy Sodeberg is whether they can count on the experienced defender's fitness for an arduous World Cup campaign.
Andersson, who played in the 1994 World Cup and cites it as his best footballing experience, is without question a major asset in peak condition.
Lagerback and Soderberg will name their squad on Friday.
