Jose Antonio Camacho
Jose Antonio Camacho
Position:Coach

Jose Antonio Camacho is now in his fourth year as manager of Spain.

He took over from Javier Clemente in September 1998 after Spain were humiliated 3-2 by Cyprus in a Euro 2000 qualifier.

His playing career started in the mid-1970s where, as a defender, he remained with Real Madrid for 18 years.

Camacho won eight League titles at the Bernabeu and was capped 81 times by his country.

He coached Espanyol, Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla in Spain before taking the national job.

He took Spain to the quarter-finals of Euro 2000 and, after settling on a balanced 4-4-2 formation, saw the side become one of the first European teams to guarantee a World Cup spot.
