Guus Hiddink
Guus Hiddink
Position:Coach

Guus Hiddink's successful CV has merely served to increase the expectation among supporters of this summer's co-hosts.

By plumping for a man who has already proved himself at club and international level, South Korea hope they have got someone who can at least take them beyond the group stages.

A midfielder during his playing days, Hiddink took up coaching in 1982 with De Graafschap in the Netherlands.

Two years on he took the reins at PSV Eindhoven where, in a six-year spell, he led the side to four league titles and the 1988 European Cup.

He became Dutch coach in 1995 and led the Netherlands to the World Cup semi-finals in 1998 where they lost to Brazil on penalties.
