South Korea celebrates
World Cup co-hosts South Korea beat Portugal 1-0 on Friday, to win a place in the next round of the competition.

Hundreds of thousands of South Koreans celebrated in one of the biggest outpourings of national fervour their country has ever seen.

Similar scenes were played out in the streets - where up to a million people had gathered outside giant open-air screens

As the final whistle went, the Korean players celebrated while their opponents left in despair

Until this tournament, South Korea had never won a World Cup match, but now they seem a force to be reckoned with
