Slovenia's coach Srecko Katanec will resign after the World Cup following a bust-up with star player Zlatko Zahovic.
Katanec made a tearful exit from the news conference at which he announced his decision, which comes after a dressing room row with Benfica midfielder Zahovic.
Zahovic was unhappy at being substituted in Slovenia's 3-1 defeat in their opening match against Spain - but has since apologised for his foul-mouthed tirade.
"I am very sorry for the things I said in the dressing room
after the game," said Zahovic.
"I am absolutely aware that they were strong words. I apologise
to everybody and to the World Cup association and to Katanec.
"I felt that at the time it was the only appropriate reaction
The pair have a history of differences.
Katanec refused to pick Zahovic for a friendly match two years ago after the 32-goal midfielder criticised him in the press.
On that occasion it took the president of the Slovenian FA to bring them together again.
