Sami Al-Jaber
Club:Al-Hilal
Position:Forward

Sami Al-Jaber approaches his third World Cup tournament as one of the most popular players in his country.

He is a hero at leading Saudi club Al-Hilal, for whom he has played since 1987.

In 2000, he spent time on loan in England with Wolverhampton Wanderers but injuries limited his impact on the English game and he soon returned home.

At USA 94 he scored from the spot against Morocco and four years later he became the first Asian to score a goal in two consecutive World Cups when he was again on target with a penalty.

A key player when the 'Sons of the Desert' won the 1996 Asian Cup, Al-Jaber remains a consistent performer despite nearing his 30th birthday.
