Kiely made his Irish international debut in the play-off for Euro 2000 but he could not prevent his side from crashing out following a Turkish penalty.
While a competent force in goal, boasting an impressive number of clean sheets for both former club Bury and current employers Charlton, he lacks the presence of Shay Given.
As such, he looks likely only to be called upon if Given falls foul of injury.
It cost Charlton £1m to lure him from Bury and he has been a consistent performer for the club ever since.
