The media have been making a big thing of Steve Staunton reaching 100 caps for the Republic of Ireland.
They even produced an Irish shirt with the number 100 for a photo shoot.
But the veteran Aston Villa defender, who made his debut against Tunisia in 1988, has said now is not the time for celebrating milestones.
The first Irishman to play in three World Cup finals is all too aware of the awesome challenge which Mick McCarthy's team will face in Ibaraki on Wednesday.
Indeed, Staunton could hardly have been handed tougher opposition for his 100th international.
Germany are renowned for producing the goods at major finals.
And Rudi Voeller's side showed they are in fine scoring form by beating Saudi Arabia 8-0 in their opening Group E game on Saturday.
"I think Germany are a better side than many people have been making out," said Staunton.
"They have world class players all over the pitch.
'More important'
"They are very strong although we do not fear them.
"I have not really thought about it being my 100th game.
''It is more important that we beat Germany, that is what I am concentrating on.
"My 100th cap is something I can look back on in a couple of years' time."
