Mexico could be running in to form just in time, according to comments in the national press after their 2-1 warm-up win over AC Milan on Sunday.

Newspaper La Jornada said that the performance was full of positive things, especially the performance of striker Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

"There are fewer doubts now," the paper said, adding that coach Javier Aguirre should have a clearer picture of the team he should select to start the World Cup.

El Heraldo wrote that Mexico seemed better organised than in the previous friendlies against Colombia and Bolivia, particularly during the first half.

The players seemed to have developed a better understanding, particularly between the midfield and attack.

But coach Javier Aguirre seemed less impressed, despite his team¿s third consecucutive win.

"We started well against Milan, but we soon started to make mistakes and lose concentration," he said.

"Even though we recovered towards the end of the match, we can¿t play like this at the World Cup."

The national team arrived in Tokyo on Tuesday, where they were greeted by the Japanese ambassador.

The team will prepare in Fukui, northern Japan, before their first Group G game against Croatia on 3 June.
