France's Under-21 coach Raymond Domenech has entered the race to become the next French team manager if Roger Lemerre is replaced."If Roger goes, and I insist on the 'if', then I'm a candidate," said Domenech on his website.
"I'm the under-21 manager and I know all the players eligible for the A team right now. I have trained them all as youngsters and I have no problems with leading a squad like this," he added.
Domenech joins a long list of potential successors to Lemerre.
That list includes former Olympique Lyon coach Jacques Santini, Le Havre manager Jean-Francois Domergue, former international midfielder Alain Giresse and former Japan manager Philippe Troussier.
French Football Federation (FFF) president Claude Simonet has said he wants Domergue to succeed Lemerre as France coach.
Lemerre's future will be discussed at a FFF meeting in Lyon on Friday.
