France defender Frank Leboeuf has delayed his plans to take immediate retirement from football.
The 34-year-old pledged to honour the final year left on his contract with club side Marseille.
And he assured Marseille's new manager Alain Perrin that he could "count on him to help the club qualify for Europe".
"The most important issue is if I'm still able to give 100%," said Leboeuf.
However, World Cup and European Championship winner Leboeuf will retire from international action.
He made the decision before France's disappointing first-round exit in Korea and Japan.
