Possibly Ecuador's most exciting young talent, the Guayaquil forward is almost certain to start alongside Agustin Delgado at the World Cup finals.
He has already amassed more than 20 caps despite being just 24 years old.
His talents were picked up by European teams and he became the first Ecuadorian to play in Italy's Serie A after joining Perugia.
He then went to Spanish Primera Liga sides Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid, but failed to make an impact for either team.
He has since returned to Ecuador to play for Barcelona de Guayaquil which he will hope is the perfect tonic ahead of the World Cup.
