A lack of first-team opportunities at Rangers looked to have scuppered Christiansen's chances of making the squad.

But merely a handful of outings for the Scottish side in the last two seasons followed by a switch to Vejle were enough to persuade coach Morten Olsen.

He had been the third choice keeper for Rangers and remains in that posiotion for his country but has been dubbed the next Peter Schmeichel and, at 24, has plenty of time to prove himself.

Joined the club from Odense but did not remain for long as his first-team chances did not improve.
