Jon Dahl Tomasson has had enough highs and lows in his career to prepare for anything the game can throw at him.
He quickly got on the goalscoring trail with his first club Heerenveen, making himself a target for Newcastle.
But a lack of pace and strength saw him ill-suited to the Premiership after his move there in 1997 and he was shipped out to Feyenoord.
There, he has worked hard to ally more clinical finishing to his already fine positional sense and got himself back among the goals once more.
His improved form did not go un-noticed and Italian giants AC Milan have snapped him up on a free transfer for next season.
