Aston Villa striker Bosko Balaban has been named in Croatia's World Cup squad, despite enduring a testing season.
The 23-year-old has not scored for Villa since moving to the club last August or featured in any of Croatia's World Cup warm-ups.
But Croatia coach Mirko Jozic has named Balaban in his 23-man squad for the World Cup.
Hertha Berlin's Josip Simunic has been chosen to replace Juventus defender Igor Tudor, who was forced to pull out of the World Cup because of injury.
