China's star central
defender Li Weifeng says he is mulling over a move to the Premiership after the World Cup.
The 24-year-old plays for Shenzhen Ping'an in the Chinese
but did not say which English club he might be joining.
"There are several clubs in contact with me, but right now I
want to concentrate on my performance in the World Cup, because with
that I can achieve a lot, which would benefit my future.
"I have a possibility in the English Premiership. It does not
matter whether the team is the best in the Premiership, what matters
is that I can play football on a pitch rather than observing from a
bench," he said.
Speculation suggests that the club in question is Southampton as Li Weifeng trained with them before the World Cup.
China's first World Cup match is on Tuesday against Costa Rica.
