Job targets final 23
Joseph-Desire Job
Job is hoping to play against Denmark
Cameroon striker Joseph Desire Job says he is determined to do everything he can to get a place in Winfried Schafer's final 23.

After a year out of the international set-up, Job has been included in the preliminary squad of 29 currently training in the Netherlands.

And he hopes for a chance to prove himself in Cameroon's last warm-up match before heading east, against Denmark in Copenhagen on Friday.

Schafer will select the full squad on Saturday, and importantly he has to decide whether to include Patrick Mboma, who is struggling with injury.

If he chooses to leave Mboma out, it could prove a boost to Job's chances.

"I'm happy to be back in the group which is really a family," Job said.

"I don't feel a stranger and it gives me real motivation to make it to the World Cup."

After a poor spell in the English Premiership with Middlesbrough, Job moved to French side Metz on loan and greatly improved his form, although his team were relegated.

Job added that he hoped that a good show at the World Cup would help get him a new transfer.

"My fate is not tied to Metz," Job stated.

"Hopefully with a good performance in the World Cup, I'll get a new club or at worst return to Middlesbrough - they are still my employers."
