The most experienced of the current crop of Brazilian goalkeepers, Dida has for a long time been the favoured number one.
Unfortunately for the 28-year-old that now looks set to change with Palmeiras rival Marcos climbing in the opinions of Brazil's management.
Dida struggled in his role as understudy and then replacement to Claudio Taffarel after his retirement.
But, given the chance, he ought to be a reliable performer with the gloves if a little prone to outbursts at his defenders.
