German Burgos was originally the second string keeper behind Roberto Bonano for the early part of Argentina's qualifying campaign.
However, the 33-year-old now looks a safe bet to start as his national side's number one in the World Cup.
He made his debut back in 1995 against Peru and earned himself the nickname 'Monkey' because of his reach.
Burgos is known to take risks in the goal mouth and seems to have the full confidence of his team-mates in doing so.
