Denmark coach Morten Olsen has paid tribute Jon Dahl Tomasson, whose two goals earned his team victory over Uruguay in the Group A game.
"He has taken his recent form out onto the pitch tonight. He is in marvellous form."
"I thought both sides were a little nervous at first but after 20 or 25 minutes we took control of the game," Olsen said.
"It wasn't just the goals themselves that pleased me but the build-up which was marvellous. As a coach it's very satisfying to see things that you practice come off.
"I thought we played the better football for the last hour and physically we were better."
Despite the win that lifts Denmark to the top of their group, Olsen is still backing France, who suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Senegal on Friday, to progress.
"France are still favourites. I'm sure that second place is between Uruguay, Senegal and Denmark."
Olsen is expecting a tough encounter when his side faces Senegal in their next match.
"I think we can be satisfied but we still have two very difficult games to come. It is very difficult to get chances against Senegal. They did very well against France."
